Day 1 Yangon arrival and sightseeing


Arrive in Yangon where you will be welcomed by your local tour guide and transferred to your hotel to drop off you luggage. If you arrived by mid day flight, we may proceed for lunch. After lunch, a walk through “downtown” Yangon, a diverse mix of faded colonial architecture from the British times, and high-rises built by more recent investors; Sule Pagoda, built in the early 3rd century is a landmark in the city centre. Late afternoon visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar’s most sacred places. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and the tip of the stupa is set with diamonds and rubies, sapphires and topaz – a stunning sight as the sun sets and a most fitting place to begin our trip in this “Golden Land”. Day 2 Fly to Heho. Drive to Inle Lake and boat excursion on Inle Lake


After breakfast, depart the hotel for flight to Heho on the Shan plateau. Transfer by road to Inle Lake and transfer to our hotel by long tail boat across the lake. Upon arrival, check in at hotel. In the afternoon, we plan to spend the day visiting villages and sampling the spectacular array of traditional handicrafts. You will see the unique method locals use to row their boats, fishermen with their own style of fishing, floating farms and gardens and a handloom weaving cottage with its own showroom. You will visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda which houses the five most revered Buddha Images in the southern Shan State. Overnight at the hotel on Inle Lake.

Day 3 Boat race and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival


Today is the special highlight of the trip. Phaung Daw Oo pagoda festival - Four Buddha Images out of five from Phaung-daw-oo Pagoda are carried on royal barge and conveyed around 14 villages on the Lake. The barge is towed by the boats of leg -rowers and hundreds of boats follow the procession. Among the dance shows and fun-fairs, the most interesting event of the festival, especially for foreigners, is their boat race - due to their unique leg rowing. It is the one and only place in the world that one can see such marvelous act. Continue rest of the day by exploring the Inle Lake area by boat. Overnight at the hotel on Inle Lake.

 

Day 4 Fly to Mandalay and sightseeing


After breakfast, we are heading back down country today to return to the airport at Heho for our flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, proceed to Mandalay and check in at hotel. Afternoon, visit the Old Palace grounds; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's largest book for its 729 marble slabs inscribed with the Buddha's Doctrine; Golden Palace Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill. Overnight at the hotel in Mandalay.

Day 5 Boat excursion to Mingun


After breakfast, you will be transferred for Jetty for a private boat across the river Ayeywarwaddy to visit Mingun. The dedications of King Bodawpaya such as the unfinished Pathodawgyi Pagoda a brick counterpart of pyramid in Egypt and the Mingun Bell, the second largest bell in the world are the most prominent religious heritages. Then visiting the Myatheintan Pagoda, the best representation of the Universe, will refresh your tiredness and fatigue. Return to Mandalay. In the afternoon, you will be taken a sightseeing tour of Mandalay which includes Mahamuni, a life like Buddha image. Mandalay is the last capital of Myanmar and that make her to be the best place to see all the traditional arts and crafts. Start visiting gold leaf making work-place and see how the gold leaf is being made by hand in a traditional way. Drive along to the south and see more industries such as bronze casting artisans, wood carvers, tapestry making ladies, and stone carvers, etc. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 Fly to Bagan and sightseeing


After breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and continue to airport for your flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, check in to hotel and depart for a sightseeing excursion around the Bagan Archaeological Zone World Heritage Area. A comprehensive exploration of Bagan includes Nyaung Oo market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Kyansittha Umin; Wet-kyi-inn Gubyaukgyi Temple with exquisite mural painting of 13th century and Htilominlo Temple. In the afternoon, after a visit to lacquer ware workshops; continue to Manuha Temple built by exile King Manuha; Nanphaya, said to have been the residence of King Manuha; Ananda Temple, architectural masterpiece and Oak-Kyaung monastery decorated with multi colour mural paintings. Day 7 Fly back to Yangon.


This morning, we will be watching sunrise over Bagan (optional) and back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast at hotel, we head to Mt. Popa about 48 km south east of Bagan. Mt. Popa, known as the abode of Nats (spirits) - a collection of 37 magical spirits both feared and honoured by some Myanmar people and the nat museum, which houses 37 life-size nat statues sculpted from teak. It's time to climb for 777 steps to the summit. Proceed to Popa Mountain Resort ( 1hr drive ) for our lunch. The restaurant offer a great view to the Popa summit that stands straight from the central plain. After lunch, return drive back to Bagan. On the way back, enroute stop at village cottage industry to learn the regional product as well as to watch the collection of juice from the palm trees, and its conversion to brown sugar. Check in at at Nyaung U airport and fly back to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 8 Yangon departure.


After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Yangon International airport for your return international departure flight.

Day 1 Yangon Arrival

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Nyaun U airport for flight to Mandalay. When you arrive at Mandalay airport, drive to ancient capital of Amarapura, the city of Immortality for a visit to Bagaya Monastery with a famous collection of Buddha images; weaving industries, two-century old U-Bein teak bridge on the Taungtaman Lake and observe the lunch process of thousand of monks who take their last meal of the day at 10:00 am in total silence. Proceed to Mandalay and check in at the hotel.

Day 5 Mandalay / Mingun / Mandalay

After lunch, drive to Ava, 30-minute to the south of Mandalay, was known in the west as the Kingdom of Ava. Stop by a tributary and cross it with a ferry. Travel by pony-cart around Ava to Nanmyint leaning tower which gives a birds' eye view of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River; Bagaya wooden monastery; Aungmyaybonza Monastery made of brick and stucco. Though the Royal Palace has gone, the Pagodas, Temples and Monasteries still remain. Return drive to Mandalay and see the silversmith work place on our way back to hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Mandalay.

Day 6 Mandalay / Heho (Inle Lake) (flight)

Check in at airport and fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival, check in at hotel. In the afternoon, we plan to visit by car to Karaweik, a royal barge for fantastic photo shot along the “pilgrims” causeway across the Royal Lake with stunning views of Schwedagon Pagoda and visit the Bogyoke Aung San Market (Scott Market) for souvenir shopping. Overnight at the hotel in Yangon.

Day 8 Yangon Departure


After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to Yangon International airport for your return international departure flight.

Day 1 Arrival Yangon by flight


Arrive Yangon international airport, welcome by tour guide. Transfer to the hotel for check in. Visit Shwedagon Pagoda, famous worldwide – its golden stupa is the ‘ Heart ’ of Buddhism Myanmar. Day 2 Yangon - Mandalay - Amarapura - Inwa - Mandalay by flight + car

Mandalay, the commercial centre and cultural tourism site, was established in 1857 by King Mindon, Arrive at Tada Oo International airport and direct sightseeing to the ancient city of Amarapura. Day 3 Mandalay - Mingun - Mandalay by boat

Visit Mingun Unfinished Pagoda, Mingun Bell, one of the world largest hanging bronze bells and Myatheindan Pagoda. After sightseeing in Mingun, sail back to Mandalay. Day 4 Mandalay - Sagaing - Monywa by car


After early breakfast at the hotel, drive to Monywa. On the way, a visit to Sagaing Hills (21km south-east of Mandalay) and western bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river, Kaung Mu Daw Pagoda which is the copy of Mahaceti Pagoda in Siri Lanka. Tour continues to Monywa located in the Valley of Chindwin River and a pleasant destination for the visitors. Sightseeing inclusive of Thanbode where a half million of Buddha images exits. Bode Tahtaung where a thousand of Bo trees or Banyan trees and a 300 foot long reclining Buddha image would be visited. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 Monywa - Powin Taung - Monywa by car


After breakfast at hotel, cross Chindwin River and drive to Hpo Win Taung and Shwe Ba Taung by local pick-up taxis. The caves contain Buddhist statues, wood carvings and murals dating to 17th and 18th centuries. Return to Monywa and overnight.

Day 6 Monywa - Pakokku - Bagan by car + boat


Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Pakokku – famous for cotton blanket. Visit local market, weaving industry, peanut snacks making cottage. And then transfer to the jetty cruise by charter private to Bagan situated in Central Myanmar, on the east bank of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. Arrive at Bagan in the evening. Day 7 Bagan by car


Option: Balloon Over Bagan (BOB)
It is a unique opportunity to see the Bagan with ‘BALLOONS OVER BAGAN’. You get a magnificent birds-eye view of thousand year-old pagodas, temples and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River as it has never been seen before. The balloon is guided by gentle winds not exceeding 24 km/h. Eight/Six passengers plus a pilot fit into the balloon’s basket. The champagne flights at sunrise last just under an hour and take off daily from October through March. Price is US $ 250 / pax. After breakfast, start whole day sightseeing of Bagan’s most important temples and pagodas ranging from the temples with the earliest wall paintings to the prototype pagada the influenced the designs of later Buddhist monuments. Day 8: Bagan - Salay - Mt. Popa - Bagan by car


After breakfast, drive to Salay (famous for its ancient monastery). Then drive to Mt. Popa where a house for Myanmar spirits. On the way you can observe toddy farm and ways of making Toddy Candy. Return to Bagan. Afternoon visit Bagan for the rests of the famous pagoda. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 Bagan - Heho - Pindaya - Inle by by flight + car + boat


After breakfast, transfer to the airport to leave for Heho. Arrive at Heho Airport and drive to Pindaya (65 km). Sightseeing inclusive of Pindaya Cave with thousands of Buddha Images placed there by pilgrims over many centuries and Umbrella workshop which is made from pulp, stroll underneath the old Banyan trees which are said over 200 years. Take fresh breath and photos. Drive to Nyaung Shwe and transfer to hotel by boat to Inle Lake. Being located at the 900 meters above sea level, Inle Lake is the second largest natural lake in Myanmar with hazy blue mountains as backdrop. Overnight stay at hotel in Inle.

Day 10 Inle - Indein - Inle by boat


After breakfast at the hotel, sightseeing by foot around the Botaloke Lake and local market. After lunch, visit Indein Village, located at the western side of the lake. Passing Nyaung Ohak Monastery and follow a stair path lined up with many hundreds o wooden columns, you finally will reach the impressive Shwe Indein Pagoda Complex. From the hillside you have great view over the lake area. On the way back to the boat, walk through a romantic bamboo forest at the riverside, where you may observe local people having a bath. Overnight in Inle lake region.

Day 11 Inle by boat


In the early morning, breakfast at hotel and visit Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda of the Shan State. Ywa-Ma village, gold and sliver smiths’ workshop. After lunch, visit Jumping Cat Monastery and floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and the famous leg rowers. In the evening, enjoy the sunset while visiting the Inle Lake by boat. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12 Inle - Heho - Thandwe - Ngapali by boat + car + flight


After breakfast, transfer to the Heho Airport and flight to Thandwe. Transfer to the beach by shuttle bus. Leisure at beach. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 & Day 14 Ngapali Beach


Breakfast at hotel. You can visit the near by fishing villages, where you can find the fishermen begin setting and drawing drift nets before dawn and continue into the late morning, when they load their catches in baskets. Women carry the baskets of fish on foot, and then return with lunch for the men. Overnight at hotel.

Day 15 Ngapali Thandwe Yangon by car + flight


Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport by shuttle bus and flight back to Yangon. On the way to the hotel, visit Kabar Aye (the World Peace pagoda) and Maha Pasana (the great cave for Buddhist synod) and check in at the hotel. After lunch shopping at Bogyoke Market (Scott’s Market) of hundreds of shops where you can find local products such as Gems & Jewelry , slippers, cloth, and so on. The Lisu Trail

Burma tours trekking can be done in many places in Burma especially in the mountainous region of Burma – Myanmar. Visitors have the opportunities to go and witnessing heavily forested jungle with rich flora and fauna. Situated 125 km north of Putao at an altitude of 1640 ft, 500 meters above sea is the administrative center of the Hkakaborazi National Park system. Being depot of botany in northern Burma ( Myanmar ) having a huge range of flowers including Rhododendron Dendricoala and many deferent species of Begonias etc. This is the very place that well-known botanist Frank Kingdon Ward has found many rare species of orchids during his botanic survey in 1920.

Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by Putao Trekking House's representative and transferred to your guest house. Putao lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. After a brief fresh up take a walk around Putao for the orientation. Day 02 Putao – Namtunkoo (trek)


Early in the morning walk to Putao market (approx 10 minute), visit attractive market often busy with local ethnic tribes. Return to hotel, breakfast and head off towards Namtunkoo Lisu village, situates west of Putao on the cross road to Mt. Lancrumadin (20 km, approx 5 hours). Walk through cultivation field passing some small villages and farm land. After about one hour walking on the flat land you are immediately in to wildness with lush tropical evergreen forests. About 3 hours trek through the terrain uphill you reach approx 2250 ft, 680 meters shoulder of Namhtun mountain range from where the path descends all the way. Far west you will see blazing 11530 ft, 3495 meters high Lancrumadin Mountain towards Indian border. Lunch stop and continue trek another one more hour through the farm land to the village. Check in at a designated home and heading to Namhtun creek, usually busy during the late afternoon by local on their return home from field. Dinner and overnight at Namhtunkoo village house.

Day 03 Namtunkoo – Mulashidi – Putao (trek/jeep)


Breakfast and visit around the village for social and cultural inter-action. Bit farewell to the locals and walk about 45 minutes through the field along Namhtun creek crossing the creek a couple of time. Once you get in to the wildness the terrain immediate become deep up which leads up to 2295 ft, 700 meters. After about 2 hour through quite strenuous jungle trail in dense forest filled with bamboo grove the trek gradually descend through farm land from where we enjoy a spectacular view of the Putao plain with snake like crawling Mula creek. Lunch stop and about 2 hours easy trek to arrive at Mulashidi village. Enjoy beautiful surrounding often back drop with snow-capped mountains in distance. Join your jeep and return back to Putao and check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight at Putao Lodge.

Day 04 Putao – Machanbaw – Putao (jeep)

Day 05 Walking / biking tour to Hopaing and Mudon villages (easy)


Breakfast and we visit small but attractive Putao market and extended walk to Lonsut village, through vast paddy fields, cross over Namhtun creek and walk up to small plateau for a nice over view of Putao valley. Continue walk through beautiful bamboo grove to Hopaing Shan village, beautifully located on the valley of Lonsut. Visit beautiful Buddhist Monastery and village, social and culture exchange with friendly Shan people. Our return walk would be along Namhtun creek with optional visit to some of the Lisu villages on the way. Afternoon we walk to Paneling Hkamti Shan village and visit unique Mahamuni Image and other attractions. Continue walk to Putaung Shan village through paddy field and gardens having small Buddhist Shrine with a back drop of Blue Mountains and snow-capped Mountains far in the horizon. 1. Shan Villages Walking Tour (Half Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Walk to farmers' villages enjoying the panoramic scenery of paddy fields, seasonal crops, mountains, and a river. Experience traditional lifestyle of Shan Villages by visiting houses, where women weave, roll cheroots, and produce fans and bamboo baskets. After about four hours of walking you will be back to Hsipaw for lunch.

2. Nam Tok Waterfall (Half Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Walk through the rice field to reach the Nam Tok Waterfall, hich has a nice pool at its base. Visit a limestone cave on the side of the waterfall and climb up 100 ft (30 meters) to njoy a splendid view over an ancient pagoda and Shan Royal Tomb as previously seen on the path in the rice field. 4. Boat Trip (Half Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Walk to the jetty on the bank of the Dokthawady River and take a boat up the river. Enjoy the beautiful scenery full of mountains, valleys, orange, and orchard plantations along the
river for about one hour. Leave the boat and walk up the hill for about half an hour to see a Shan monastery believed to be 150 years old. On the way you will see plantations of pineapple, papaya, and orange, which are widely grown along the way to the monastery. Return to the boat and continue your journey to the confluence of two rivers, where swimming is possible. Enjoy the view, take a dip in cool water and return to Hsipaw. On the way you can visit a Shan
village with typical houses, small charming garden, railway connecting Mandalay and Lashio, and a small animist temple.

5. Palaung Hill Tribe Village and Tea Plantation (Full Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Prepare for about 10 hours of trekking to the tea mountain and back. On the way you will see Shan and Palaung villages, beautiful mountain landscape, seasonal crops, and tea
plantation. Upon learning about the traditional lifestyle of Palaung Hill Tribe (Mon Kaumer), whose women still wear their traditional costumes return to Hsipaw for well-deserved rest.

6. Hot Springs (Half Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. You will walk for about 1,5 hours to the natural hot spring through villages, rice fields, and streams. Take a bath, rest, and come back to Hsipaw for lunch.

7. Visiting Northern Suburb (Half Day).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Visit a monastery, which is more than 150 years old and see lacquered image of Buddha in Bowgyo Historical Pagoda. Afterwards visit Salt Making Village, which is located just behind the pagoda. Learn about the interesting process of making salt and return to Hsipaw for lunch.

8. Palaung Hill Tribe Village and Tea Plantation (2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Prepare for about 5 hours of trekking to the tea mountain. On the way you will see Shan and Palaung villages, beautiful mountain landscape, seasonal crops, and tea plantation. Overnight at Palaung Family's house.
On the next day learn about the traditional lifestyle of Palaung Hill Tribe (Mon Kaumer), whose women still wear their traditional costumes and return to Hsipaw, where your itinerary ends.

9. Palaung Hill Tribe Village and Tea Plantation (3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS).


After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Prepare for about 5 hours of trekking to the tea mountain. On the way you will see Shan and Palaung villages, beautiful mountain landscape, seasonal crops, and tea plantation. Overnight at Palaung Family's house.

10. NAMSAM Trekking - Golden Palaung Hill Tribes (4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS)


Nam Sam is a capital township of the Palaung minority located at 5400 ft above sea level, in Northern Shan State. Surrounding hills are covered with tea plantations and villages. The town looks out over a sea of rucked-up mountain ridges and plunging ravines. Most of the inhabitants are Shwe (golden) Palaung. There are several different types of Palaung such as Ngwe (silver) and Paley Palaung villages sitting on the top of over 6000 ft high mountain around Nam Sam.

The tea cultivation and tea industry is the main local employer. Here is the proposed itinerary:

After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your guide. Take a jeep to Nam Sam and stop for lunch at Leelu (Palaung Village). Stay overnight in Shwe Phy Taung Tan Guest House. Total driving time for today is about 6 hours.

On Day 2 trek from Nam Sam to Own Matat (Paley Palaung village). Eat lunch at Man Nauk village and stay overnight in Own Matat. Total walking time for today is about 8 hours.

On Day 3 trek from Own Matat to Pan Nyaung (Shan Village). Stop for lunch at Kon Hawk (Golden Palaung Village) and stay overnight in Pan Nyaung. Total walking time for today is about 8 hours.

On Day 4 trek from Pan Nyaung to Hsipaw. Stop for lunch in Na Mont (Shan village).
